Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

As I strolled through Solheim’s campus this past week, I couldn’t help but marvel at the vibrant tapestry of life that unfolded before me.  Life here echoes the rhythms of any bustling household.  During lunchtime, I paused by our dining room, where residents gathered, sharing laughter and stories over a meal.  The Fountain Room was alive with creativity, transformed into a painting studio where residents delicately captured their favorite flowers on canvas.  Amidst the tranquil corners bathed in warm light, I found others engrossed in the worlds of their books and newspapers. On the Skilled Nursing Patio, the atmosphere was filled with the warmth of familial bonds as loved ones visited their cherished family members.

Witnessing these moments fills me with great joy, knowing that our residents are experiencing a rich life, a life well-lived.  At Solheim, we refer to this as ‘an abundant life’, a philosophy that lies at the heart of our mission.  To each and every one of you, thank you for being an integral part of our Solheim family!

Speaking of family, our staff holds a special place within our Solheim family. As I mentioned last week, we’re eagerly anticipating Team Member Appreciation Week set to take place from May 6th through 10th.  This dedicated week is a time to honor and celebrate the incredible dedication of our staff who tirelessly contribute to our mission of fostering abundant living for our residents.  We have an exciting line up of celebrations planned, including dress-up days (which we enthusiastically encourage everyone to join in), surprises, and plenty of fun-filled activities.  Let’s come together to show our appreciation for the incredible team that makes Solheim shine!

If you’re interested in sponsoring activities for one of these special days, please reach out to Tina Antypas. Alternately, you may make a donation at www.solheimsenior.org/donate and select the Employee Appreciation option.  Thank you for your generosity and commitment to our Solheim Community.

Masks are strongly recommended for visitors.   Staff who are not vaccinated with all current COVID -19 vaccines for 2023- 2024 winter season are still required to wear a mask in the Health Center/ Skilled Nursing campus.  Masks will be provided at the Front Desk.  All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
