To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO
As we as a community move forward during this unprecedented time, I stop for a moment to reflect on what will go down in history as a turning point in world history.
We will remember the virus that created a global pandemic, where countries closed their borders, travel stopped, restaurants closed, and physical contact or group gatherings became taboo. We will remember it as the year we social-distanced, and we emptied grocery shelves in preparation for self-quarantines. For businesses, it will be a memory of learning fast how to adapt.
Mostly though, we will remember it as a pivotal point that we as a global community made a choice - to unite or to divide. We have come together in support and know we are stronger when united. Solheim is most appreciative of your support, your prayers, your gifts and your care during this time. Thank you.
As of our last notice, we have no new positive cases to report. Those employees who have tested positive will not return to work until they are cleared to do so.
We are working with the City of Los Angeles and a private lab to complete testing of all staff and residents. This testing has started and will continue until everyone has been tested. We expect this to be completed by next week.
We notify public health officials daily as required and are following procedures recommended by the Department of Health and CDC. We are working closely with the local public health departments to monitor these situations and continue to notify residents, family members, and team members of these developments. We want to make residents, their families, our dedicated staff, and our community aware of this situation and reassure everyone that we are responding rapidly and aggressively to protect the health and safety of our residents and staff.
We have tested our dining staff and are expanding testing to others
We continue to offer virtual conversations with our residents and family members
Activities have been adjusted to consist of in room activities only
Community members share notes of encouragement and love with our residents
We THANK YOU for your participation and understanding during this unprecedented time
