To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, Solheim CEO
It has been nearly 3 weeks since our first communication with our residents regarding Coronavirus/Covid-19, with many progress updates along the way. Within this time, many updates and changes have been made to help keep the health and safety of our residents, family members and staff a priority in slowing the spread of Covid-19. We certainly do not have all the answers, and we thank you for your support and participation. Many have written to us and to our residents with words of appreciation and encouragement. Thank you!
In addition to the changes we’ve already communicated, we are now offering support for our staff to assist with grocery shopping to hopefully alleviate some stress during these challenging times. We are working on other initiatives as well to provide more assistance for our staff who are so dedicated to caring for our residents.
Many family members are taking advantage of our virtual communication tools of Skype. Zoom and FaceTime calls. Our Activitiy department is active with in-apartment visits with ‘Boredom Buster’ packets including puzzles, pictures, news and even snacks. Small group activities with limited number of participants at a time, spread out for proper social distancing have been reimagined, and we’re even starting online viewing of church services on Sundays! Many children are sending digital art they’ve created, and neighbors are sending kind notes to our residents letting them know they are loved and thought of during this time of isolation.
We are still restricting ALL visitors and non-essential personnel until further notice.
Continue to send your compassionate note or letter to us that we can share with our residents, or an uplifting comment or words of encouragement for our staff
We strive to find ways to create the abundant life that is our mission in these very challenging days. As we adjust to the changing landscape, please know we appreciate your continued support spiritually, physically, and monetarily, and we will always keep our residents, family members and staff’s needs at the forefront of each decision we make.
