Jim Barber is the president and chief executive officer of the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC), a position he has held since 1994. The association is the “voice of hospitals” in the region. A staff of 50 provides advocacy, representation, health policy development and analysis, and various products, services and educational programs for hospital members. Mr. Barber is also the chairman and chief executive officer of AllHealth, and serves as vice chair of the National Health Foundation (NHF), a not-for-profit affiliate of HASC. Prior to joining HASC in 1989, Mr. Barber served for 10 years in various hospital administrative positions in Southern California. He has a master’s degree in Public Health from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from USC. He lives in La Canada with his wife, Andrea.
